I have taught second grade at Sope Creek for 10 years but have taught a total
of 36 years. I have priviously taught in North Carolina, South Carolina,
and Texas. Growing up in Atlanta, I attended Georgia State University for a
BS in Early Childhood Education. Later I completed a MED at Charleston
Southern University and EDS at Lincoln Memorial University. Although second
grade is my favorite,I have taught first, third,
and fifth.
I am married to John, a consultant for colleges and universities,
and we have Annabelle and Travis, English Springer Spaniels. Our
daughters, Caroline and Priscilla, are grown and live away from Atlanta. We
have three grandsons and enjoy every minute we can spend with family. My
hobbies include boating at Lake Lanier, playing my piano,on , reading, trips
to mountains in the fall and beaches in summer, shopping, knitting,reading
and going to movies. However, my favorite hobby is teaching second graders!
Our mission will be for each student to reach his or her highest potential
this year in a warm, safe, and stimulating environment which fosters the joy
of learning while meeting individual needs. It is my wish to help students
develop problem solving skills, positive character traits, social skills, and
a firm foundation of standards and skills that will sucessfully enable them
to be motivated as lifelong learners.
