About Mrs. Dean

Hey Tritt Families!
I am so excited to start this 2010-2011 school year.
I look forward to getting to know my new students, and I thought you all
might like to know a little about me.

I moved down to Georgia about 13 years ago. I moved to East Cobb with my
family, I graduated from Pope High School, and I earned my B.S. in Early
Childhood Education from Georgia State University. I completed my student
teaching at Tritt (in Mrs. Womble's second grade class), and fell in love
with our school. After I graduated from GSU, I spent a month subbing at Tritt
before I accpeted a supply job in Kindergarten at Tritt. I was hired on full
time the following school year, and spent 4 years teaching Kindergarten. I am
excited about my new experience in 2nd grade and I can't wait to get started!
I am passionate about incorporating technology into my lessons as well as
facilitating my students in their use of technology. I also love teaching
students to become better writers, and I am thrilled to apply what I have
learned to an older age group!

I spent all 4 years at GSU as the starting goalkeeper for the Women's
Division 1 soccer team. I am now "retired" from soccer, but still have a
place for sports in my heart. When I'm not at school I'm either mountain
biking, hiking, camping, playing softball or ultimate frisbee, or spending
time outside! I spent a few summers working as a counselor and a Unit Head at
the Chattahoochee Nature Center's Camp Kingfisher. I love introducing nature
to children, and hope to bring some of those ideas into the classroom.

I can't say my summer was relaxing, but it was definitely an amazing and
memorable one. In June, I married Cameron Dean in the mountains in North
Georgia. We had an absolutely perfect wedding filled with friends and family.
After the wedding, we spent 8 days exploring the southern half of Ireland. We
then spent 3 days relaxing in NYC, before meeting up with my family at the
Jersey shore for our annual week long vacation.

This summer was also exciting for me, as I am currently enrolled in a gifted
certification class. Throughout the year I will be attending classes, and
applying new concepts, strategies, and methodologies to my planning and
implementing of the curriculum.

I hope you all enjoyed your summer!
Can't wait to meet you all, and get our year started!
See you soon,
Mrs. Dean
