This is my 18th year in education. I am originally from Glennville, Ga.
I graduated from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA with a BS in
Early Childhood Education and a MEd in School Counseling. I worked as an
elementary teacher for five years and an elementary counselor for six years.
During my time as an elementary counselor, I became interested in
career education. The natural next step was to transition to the secondary
level. My number one reason for being at Ware County High School is to
do my part to increase student achievement. Please call, e-mail, or visit my
office whenever I can be of assistance. I am located in the freshmen academy
wing, office #606.

My name is Jewell Sharpe and this is my 17th year in education. I began my
career as a substitute teacher, and then taught fifth, sixth and seventh
grade before moving to Ware County High School as a guidance counselor. I
am married to Everett Sharpe and we have four beautiful daughters Joyce
Danielle (18), Sophia Evette (16), Jennifer Elizabeth (13) and Olivia Jewell
(8). My hobbies include spending quality time with my family, cooking,
listening to music and watching movies. I am from Baxley, GA and graduated
from Appling County High School. Georgia Southern University is where I
obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, with a minor in
Sociology and Criminal Justice and a Middle Grades Certificate. I earned a
Master of Science in Guidance and Counseling from Fort Valley State
University in 2000 and an Ed.S in Curriculum and Instruction from Cambridge
College. My years in the classroom as a teacher were magnificent. I believe
that educating our students require not only ability, but patience, dedication
and commitment. As a high school counselor, I am committed to helping
students become aware of themselves and their needs which will prepare them
to make responsible choices. In addition, I provide students with realistic
goals based on their experience and educational plan. One of my main
objectives is to help increase student achievement. I am proud to be a Gator
and excited about working with the Academy of Ware Agriculture & Medicine.
The mission of the guidance and counseling department is to work in
conjunction with students, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure that
EVERY student graduates on time and prepared for on-the-job training or the
continuation of studies in a formal educational setting.
