What if I try really hard and just can't get an assignment in on time?

Stuff happens! Send me an e-mail or pull me aside and speak to me 
in private. Usually I will give you at least one day extra. 
HOWEVER, if you ask me in front of the class or in front of 
someone else, I will say no. If you tell anyone I gave you an 
extension, it will be due the same day as everybody else and you 
will lose a number of points if it's late.

I've received A's on all my homework. Why isn't my grade going up?

Homework is only work 10% so it's going to take more for your 
grade to move than if you received an A on a performance 
assessment that's worth 15%. The same hold strue if you fail an 
assignment. Doing poorly on a homework assignment probably won't 
hurt your grade too badly because it's only worth 10%. However, a 
poor grade on a writing assignment (30%) or a unit test (15%) 
can hurt quite a bit.

Why do you have to give bad grades?

I don't give grades; you earn them. If you earned an A I'll give 
it to you. If you earn an F I'll give that to you too. Think of 
it this way: If you get paid $10/hour and you work 10 hours, 
you've earned $100. If you get A's on all your assignments and 
you have 10 assignments you've earned an A. Simple as that.

Seriously, what happens if I get caught cheating?

The immediate answer is you receive a zero. Then, I contact your 
parents/guardians and invite them in for a meeting. Next, you 
forfeit any current or future bonus points.  Finally, 
I stop trusting you which can make the year seem longer than it 
is. Final Word: DON'T CHEAT IN MY CLASS!!!

How many major exams and projects will I have to do?

At least 3 major exams and 3 projects although you will probably 
end up with 5 projects not including 3 major papers.

What is the easiest way for my parent or guardian to get in touch with you?

The easiest way is through e-mail. I can usually respond the same 
day but it may take up to 24 hours. If you e-mail me on a Friday 
after school I may not get the message until Monday morning.
