I'm a native of Athens, Georgia. I graduated from Clarke Central High
School, earned a BSEd in Social Science Education, and completed a MEd
degree in Social Science Education at the University of Georgia. I also
earned National Board Teacher Certification in 2004. I began teaching at
Wheeler County High School in 1993, meaning that I am now in my 19th year
here - unbelievable how the time flies!
I am active in the Georgia Council for the Social Studies, our statewide
social studies teachers' organization. I served as the President of
GCSS from October 2007 through October 2008. I'm also the Literary
Coordinator for WCHS and the co-sponsor of Beta Club.
The mission for these classes is to create effective, informed citizens who
will participate actively and intelligently in our democratic system. We
will learn about the past so we may understand the present and plan for the
future.
