This Week In…….
•	Sight Words:  Find, Use, May, Water, Long, Little (If a word is 
highlighted please practice with your child.  I will retest on Friday.  Easy 
ways to practice: Flashcards, rainbow words, build word with noodles, write 
word in shaving cream)
o	A list of all the sight words for the year can be found on our class 
website!
•	Language Arts: Practice “Stretching” Sentences and adding details, 
Review Nouns, Adjectives, and Verbs, Long /i/ spelled i, i_e, Spelling 
Patterns, Homophones (Words that Sound the Same, but Spelled different with 
Different Meanings)-To, Two, Too
o	Priority Words: of (review), a, to  (NO EXCUSE WORDS WHEN WRITING)
•	Writer’s Workshop: Continue Lucy Caulkins Small Moments: Writing Some 
Words in a Snap, Focusing on the Most Important Part, Revealing Internal 
Stories (Emotions in our Writing)
•	Math:  Geometry-Compare, Classify, Contrast, shapes by the common 
attributes of position, shape, size, number of sides, and number of corners 
•	Science:  Investigate how Vibrations produce Sound (Vocabulary: 
sound, vibration, pitch, volume)
•	
Character Word of The Week: Gratitude-A feeling of thankful appreciation for 
benefits received.

Please send in a spiral bound notebook, if you haven’t already. I want to 
start “Reading” Journals during our guided reading time. I appreciate your

Salvation Army Stockings
In past years Argyle has been at the top of the list for how many stockings 
we have filled.
Last year we filled 75 stockings.
The stockings will be going to boys and girls in Cobb County only, some may 
be for our students. I have signed our class up to fill 2 stockings!  Any 
help is appreciated! Thanks in advance for your generosity and support!
Here are some ideas for the stocking:
NON-food items such as pencils and erasers, writing tablets and other school 
supplies
Infant items
Bows and barrettes, socks, mittens, gloves, hats
Small toys, yo-yo, slinky, cars, dolls
Soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb
And anything appropriate and non-breakable that will fit into a stocking.

Please send in Fernbank Field Trip permission slips and money ASAP.

Muffins with Mom on Tuesday at 7:00am.
