Hi! My name is Jelynn Horne. I have lived in the Columbus/Opelika area for
15 years. I have been married to my husband, Jody for 10 years. I am a
mom to a precious boy named Austin and a 4 month old baby girl named Brooklynn. This is my 13th
year at Britt DavidMagnet Academy (two years in First Grade and 10 in Second) and I consider
myself very fortunate. Moving to third grade is both a challenge and a
joy, and I would not trade what I do for anything. I have a Bachelor's and
Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I realize that teaching is a
privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility and always try to do my
best to ensure that each student has a motivating and safe learning
experience in the classroom.
My hobbies are scrapbooking, photography, and reading.
My mission is to create an environment where the children feel safe, provide
lessons where they can learn according to their personality and style of
learning, and they enjoy coming to school to see what the day will bring.
Where learning is engaging, challenging, and their academic abilities will
progress over the couse of the school year.
