study for morning work quiz - Friday

Every Friday:

Reading Log - 100 pages due

Wednesday - Graded papers come home

Friday - Reading Log Due, Morning Work Quiz - Each Monday, the students will
have a morning work page to go in the front, clear pocket of their DOG
binder. There are 4 sections labeled Monday through Thursday with ELA on one
side and Math on the other. They will have each monring from 8:00-8:15 to
complete the section for the day. At 8:15, we will go over the work as a
class. This will stay in their DOG binder all week for them to study. There
will be an assessment each Friday morning to review the skills from that
week, which will be graded (1 math grade, 1 ELA).

HW Passes: The HW pass must be attached (tape, staple, or paperclip) to a
sheet of NB paper with the correct labeling for the assignment. I will
collect the HW pass and write "HW Pass" on the paper and return in weekly
folder. Stevie B's and Chick-Fil-A receipts from Spirit nights
work in the same manner as a pass for one of the assignments.

Don't forget! Reading logs are due every Friday. You must read 100 minutes
for full credit. Record the number of pages for Millionaire and be sure to
have a parent sign it each night. Parents, make sure to sign for all pages.
If you only sign the first two nights and not the second two, they cannot be
counted. It is fine to just sign once as long as it is clear you are signing
for each line on the log. Also, 100 minutes is the requirement for the week,
but I do tell them to read 25 minutes per night. It is fine to read all of
the minutes on the weekend prior or the first half of the week as long as
they are all submitted on Friday, unless I let you know otherwise after
getting to know your child's needs. I just remind them to read 25 minutes per
night to break it down for students who are less enthusiastic about reading
or are in need of help time managing.
