This is my sixth year teaching at Britt David Magnet Academy, and I am
so happy to be teaching in such an excellent school! I graduated from the
University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!) with a degree in business. Then, I worked
at Aflac for three years while earning my Master's degree in Early Childhood
Education from Troy University. I met my fabulous husband, Chad, while
working there. I could not be more pleased with the switch to teaching, or
with my wonderful students!
I live in Columbus with my wonderful husband, our sweet girl, Caroline
(who will be 5 in October), our little boy, Luke, who was one in
January, and little bichon doggy, named Maggie. I am blessed with a beautiful
family! I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, watching movies, and
scrapbooking. My new favorite grown-up book is Sashenka by Simon Montefiore,
and my favorite kid book is Holes by Louis Sachar. My all time favorite
subject is math, and I am the math team sponsor at Britt David. My favorite
color is pink, and I love frogs (but not the real ones...yuck)!
It is my goal that all of my students will learn to work together as a
classroom community and individually to reach their academic and social
goals in a safe and nurturing classroom environment filled with high
expectations and support.
My Beliefs:
Beliefs:
I believe that every child is in my classroom for a reason, and I am
committed to making a positive impact on their lives.
I believe that every child has the ability to exceed academic expectations
when embraced with love in a learning environment built on trust.
I believe that a child's excitement about learning is determined by the way
concepts are initially presented to them. I am committed to engaging my
students in all academic areas, with a special emphasis on building
excitement and confidence in mathematics.
