My name is Waverley Parkerson. I am 31 years old and taught 2nd grade
at Britt David for 3 years. I am now extremely proud to be a part of
the "FABULOUS FOURTH GRADE". I have been married for 10 years to my husband
Michael. I have a daughter, Reese, who is 8 (Mrs. Fitts' class)
and a son, Brooks, who is 7. He will be in Mrs. Deppe's class. I am also the
proud "Mommy" of a Yorkie named "Sadie"and a disobedient Golden Retriever
named "Tilly". I have a brother that is 10 years younger than me. He is one
of my best friends. My sister lives in LaGrange, Georgia with my wonderful
brother-in-law and niece, Hazel. I love spending time with my family. They
are the ones that I thank for instilling in me the values that I possess
today. They are my heroes.
I love teaching. I love my job and I love what I do. There is no
greater gift in this world than knowing that I am molding and shaping our
leaders of tomorrow. They are all such wonderful kids and I am so thankful
that I have been given the chance to get to know each of them and their
families. It is because of each of you that I love coming to work each day.
You are all WONDERFUL! Thank you for the support and for all that you do to
help make your children's educational experience a great one!
A few of my favorite things....Coke (Classic...not diet), The Bachelor,
American Idol, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Brothers and Sisters, What
Not to Wear, and I love watching Cake Boss and Amazing Cakes (I wish I had
the talent to make cakes like this). I am a true beach lover.
I attended Auburn University for 2 years and finished my undergraduate
work at Troy University in Phenix City. I received my Master's degree in
December of 2009 from Walden University. I begin my first Doctoral class on
June 26th.
My overall mission for this class is for each and every student to associate
success with every aspect of the curriculum. I will strive to be consistent
and to keep it creative and new. I want each child to leave this class with
confidence in themselves. My goal is for each student to truly love
knowledge and to become lifelong learners. By creating a safe, welcoming
environment and offering authentic and engaging lessons, students are placed
in a situation that is conducive to learning and success. We have a blast in
my classroom and I can promise that they will always leave with a smile and
come home with a story about that crazy Mrs. Parkerson. :)
