What should my child be learning in fourth grade?

A LOT!!! Go check out www.picasso.cobbk12.org and you can find all the
standards being taught in each subject area for your fourth grader. Along
with academics we will also be working hard on organizational skills and
social skills to get your child ready for middle school.

What are the class rules?

We don't have rules in our class because we have decided that we are a class
that cares. C.A.R.E.S stands for cooperation, assertivenss, responsibility,
empathy and self control. We spent a lot of time at the beginning of the
school year talking about what these things mean to us and how they should
look in the classroom. The students are doing a great job with our CARES
policy.

What do I do if my child has a question about homework?

Each child has a study buddy. The names and phone numbers of their study
buddy is on the back cover of their planner. If they have a question they
can contact their study buddy. If their study buddy can't answer or is not
home your student is welcome to contact me.

Will there be homework every night?

Your child will be expected to read 20+ minutes every night. They will have
other homework as well, but it will vary acccording to what we are doing in
class. I try not to assign homework over the weekend unless we are involved
in a big project.
