I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, with both my parents, my
sister and my dog. I attended and graduated from Briarwood Christian School
in Birmingham, Alabama. I then attended college at Troy State University in
Troy, Alabama. I graduated in May of 2003 with a degree in Elementary
Education. GO TROJANS! From this point I moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and
began teaching at East Side Elementary and have taught here for the past
eight years. I am very thankful to teach in a school that is supported by
the community and the families within East Side. I also finished my
Master's Degree from Kennesaw State University in May of 2007.
A year ago I married my Prince Charming, Justin and we have a little
Dashund named Molly. Some of of the things I enjoy teaching, painting,
traveling, cooking, watching SEC football (ROLL TIDE), and just spending time
with my family and friends. :)
My mission for the class is for every student to gain new knowledge of
themselves and of the world around them. I want them to become responsible
students who will grow and embrace that responsibility to learn new, fun,
and exciting things through their experiences. My belief is that EVERY child
can learn and succeed in life. I want all of my students to realize and reach
their full potential. They can achieve anything they put their mind to, when
they try. I believe in using good manners and proper English. Can't is not a
word in our classroom. Every student is different but equal. While we are
working hard and learning all of the 1st grade material, we will have fun
doing it!
