How long should my child read each night?
Your child should read for about 15 to 20 minutes daily. Remember to record the title of the book you read in your reading log.
Should my child bring a healthy snack and water bottle to school daily?
Yes, your child should bring a healthy snack and water bottle to school daily. Examples of healthy snacks might include fruit, a cheese stick, cheese and crackers,a yogurt, and cut vegetables. Also, remember to write your child's name on their water bottle. Our class will have snack at recess and by this time your child is hungry. Remember a healthy snack is great fuel for our brain!!
When should my child wear their class t-shirt to school?
Your child should wear their class t-shirt to school on days that we have out of school field trips. They also will need to wear their class t-shirt to our First Grade Musical as well as on field day.
When is my child's daily practice due?
Please return your child's daily practice in their "Take Home Binders" each day.
What is the best way to contact me?
The best ways to contact me is to place a note in your child's "Take Home Binder" or to send me an e-mail.
What Math facts should my child be practicing?
Your child should be practicing their addition and subtraction facts to 12.
What about birthday treats?
Birthday treats are allowed. Please contact me the day before your child's birthday to arrange the details for their celebration. Our class has all birthday celebrations during our recess. Ideas for birthday treats might include cookies, cupcakes, doughnuts,and cake( needs to already be cut into slices). Party favors are not allowed. Also, make sure that you have enough for everyone in the class and that you provide paper products as well.
