TAKING CHILDREN OUT OF SCHOOL:
In case of emergency, you may take your child out of school during the school day. Please obtain the necessary release from the office. Student will be called to the office. Parents are encouraged to make every effort to arrange for doctor or dental appointments after school hours, intercession or vacation. This will show your child that you value instructional time.

The Health Aide continually reviews health records for compliance of physical evaluations, medical follow-up and immunization requirements. The Health Aide administers medication in school for students with chronic illness and/or life threatening conditions. HEAD LICE:
Children infested with head lice (ukus) will be excluded from school until treatment is started. Periodic checks by the Health Aide will be made to insure that infestation does not occur. To control ukus from spreading, the school and family must work together. Parents should drop-off and pick up their children on the school side of Waihe’e Road. If you drop-off or pick up your child across the street from the school, please have your child use the crosswalk. When JPOs are on duty, orange cones will mark the entrances to the school grounds as recommended by the Honolulu Police Department. If using the back parking lot, park on the side nearest the library and have your child use the sidewalk. Do not allow your child to walk across the cafeteria delivery area.
Cars are not allowed to park in the bus drop-off zone or by the flagpole. Please note that the front parking lot is reserved for faculty and staff.
JPO:
The Junior Police Officers (JPOs) are selected from student applicants possessing desirable traits of good citizenship. They must be at least ten years of age. Parental consent is required for each student serving as a JPO. Students who are interested in becoming a JPO must fill-out an application and return it to the teacher. The JPO supervisor is responsible for choosing the JPOs from the list of approved applicants.

new riders are issued through the school. Bus drivers will distribute applications to current riders.
All bus riders (except those who are approved for free bus service) must pay the transportation fee. Bus passes may be purchased annually or quarterly.
