Born in Hawaii, Mrs. Simpson attended Maryknoll grade school or 9 years. She
graduated from Kaiser High School in 1993. Mrs. Simpson attended Kapiolani
Community College for 2 years (where she took the exact same classes with the
exact same books as her friends at UH for less than 50% of the cost). She
then transfered to University of Hawaii at Manoa where she completed a
bachelor's in English in 1997. One semester later she enrolled in the post
baccalaureate program for secondary education, graduating in 1999. Her first
job was at Mililani Middle School, where she stayed for 3 years. The next 5
years she spent at Moanalua Middle perfecting her teaching. While there she
enrolled in the Masters in Curriculum Studies program at UH, graduating in
2006. She currently works at Maryknoll High School poking around the brains of
9-12 graders.
