quote on page nine (what is the author trying to convey?), OR, explain the

Group #1:  Prepare, with notes, to lead a class discussion on our reading 
homework.  Your task is to encourage the class to discuss and "disect" the 
reading.  You may discuss anything from the book thus far (but should focus 
on the night's reading).

follows the commandments for writing, describe a character of your choice 
from Jurassic Park.  You must include one excerpt from the text to support 
your description of the character.  (This excerpt must be properly cited.  
Use the handout I gave you to help you properly cite.)  Also, read to page 
120 in Jurassic Park.

Assigned September 1 (Due on September 2):  Take extensive, type-written 
notes preparing you for the debate tomorrow.  Group one must argue that the 
bioengineering practices discussed in 4.4 are ethical.  Group two must argue 
that they are unethical.  In these notes, include at least two passages for 
the book (and properly cite these excerpts).

favor or against genetic engineering.  Specifically, focus on the ethics

sure that the formatting matches the other three.  Also, make sure that the

Assigned October 6 (Due on October 7): Amy Tan writes, "You must peel off 
your skin, and that of your mother, and her mother before her.  Until there 
is nothing. No scar, no skin, no flesh" (48).  In writing, explore the 
significance of this except.  Also, read to page 54 in JLC (this is only five 
pages of reading!)
