Journal Requirements/Rubric:
  • All journals shall be typed/printed/three hole-punched and placed into your Catholic Christianity binder.
  • Journals are graded on the quality & quantity of the writing.
  • Is it reflective, thoughful and insightful?
  • Have you clearly answered the journal questions?
  • Is it typed in a 12 PT., Times New Roman, double-spaced format?
  • 1 full page = 10 pts.
  • 3/4 page = 7 pts.
  • 1/2 page or less = 5 pts.
 
Journal #1: It is said that God's existence can be experienced through beauty, truth and love. Share your experinces and opinions on beauty, truth and love. Do these experinces lead you to believe in God, why or why not?
 
 Classwork #1: Chapter 2 - Jesus Christ: Lord & Savior, Crossword Puzzle for vocabulary review.
 
Journal #2: A review of The Nativity Story. Describe the main characters and what are they like. Where and when does this story take place? Give examples of conflict or struggle in this story. Give examples of moral (good) behavior and immoral (evil) actions. What is this story all about? What does this story mean to you?
 
Chapter 2 - Small Group - Mini-Project #1:
Applying what we have learned. Each group will choose an idea from P. 65, there are five options. Groups will practice communicating, collaborating, syntehesizing and presentation skills. Additional guidelines/directions will be given during class.
 
Chapter 3- Small Group - Mini-Project #2:
Applying what we have learned. Each group will choose an idea from P. 89, there are six options. Groups will practice communicating, collaborating, syntehesizing and presentation skills. Additional guidelines/directions will be given during class.
 
Exhibition Project: M.E. (My Experience) Scrapbook.
For Sections 1 and 3, the project is due on Oct. 29th (Thursday).
For Sections 2 and 4, the project is due on Oct. 30th (Friday).
 
Each class must be working on this project everyday until it is fully completed!

All exhibition projects must be completed on time (see above due dates).
All 12 parts must be completed. If any part of the exhibition project is not fully completed
on time, there will be a 5% deduction off your final score. There is an additional 5% deduction for every class
thereafter, that your exhibition project is not completed. All students must be prepared to present their exhibition projects (M.E. Scrapbook) on the day that their projects are due! There will be no exceptions, reasons or excuses allowed!
 
Preparation & Study Sessions for the ACRE Test on Nov. 18, 2009 (Wed.).
Read/study/memorize the following Summary Points found on the following pages in your testbook:
PP. 38, 64, 88, 115, 141, 165, 189, 212, 239-240 and 255. Also read/study/memorize the Appendix: Catholic Handbook for Faith on PP. 257-280. Q. & A./Review/Check for comprehension to follow.
