I began at Maryknoll in 2003, as the High School Campus Minister and taught
part-time in the classroom.
My wife has been a Middle School teacher at Maryknoll Grade School for
the last 17 years. We have three wonderful children: Micah (13 years old),
Matthew (10 years old) and Malia (8 years old). All three of our children
attend Maryknoll Grade School. Feel free to contact me at any time with any
questions or concerns you may have. God bless you and have a wonderful day!
Introduction to Catholicism is an overview of Catholic Christianity. Through
class activities, readings, group projects and prayer, we will explore what
it means to be a Catholic Christian. The course gives each student an
opportunity to look at his/her development and identity, the meaning of
religious faith, an overview of the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures as well
as the traditions that have emerged from the Apostles and their successors in
faith. We will explore this course with prayer, spirituality and the
Sacraments.
Christian Morality: Morality, at it's heart, is doing the right thing. What
is the right thing to do in all situations? Christians believe there is a
strong link between living a moral (good) life and happiness. Morality draws
on human reason, experience, and divine revelation. We have gifts of
intelligence, wisdom, and freedom. Our choices and actions form our
character. Someone with a good moral character is normally a person who is
virtuous, fully human and loving to oneself, others and God. This course will
discuss the steps to living a good, moral virtuous life and developing sound,
moral decision making processes. Our choices, consequences, learning and
growing, will affect our present and future life and it is essential to
discuss what we say and do everyday because it shapes and guides us along our
journey of life.
