How do I sign my child up for preschool?

Lottery Registration for 2011-12 has been completed. There is a waiting list for 3 year olds.   
4 year old spot remain. Please email for 4 year old registration.


Lottery for 2012-13 year :
Parents/Guardians will need to complete an application form to place their child
on the lottery list for a slot in the AM or PM classes. Names will be taken
from January 4 to March 16. A lottery drawing will be held March 26.
Families will be notified of their child’s acceptance beginning April 1. Registration will take place in April. A $50 registration fee along with all paperwork will need to returned for students to be considered enrolled.(Registration fee is waived for
families qualifying for income eligible state funded preschool grants).

Is there a waiting list for preschool?

No we do not keep a waiting list.  Lottery applications will be taken for the 2012-13 school year from Jan. 4-Mar. 16.

When will I know if my child will get a spot in preschool?

Families will be contacted beginning April1 as to their status of the lottery.

How old does my child need to be to come to preschool?

For the 3 year old program students need to be 3 years old by September 15, 2012.  For the 4 year old program students need to be 4 years old by
September 15, 2012.

What is the cost of preschool?

Tuition for the morning class is $150 a month. Tuition for the afternoon class
is $150 a month. You can apply for a tuition assistance grant. Please fill out the tuition assistance form to be considered.
A $50 non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of
registration.

What are the hours?

Morning preschool is 8:30-11:30am Tuesday thru Friday.  
Afternoon preschool is 12:30-3:30pm Tuesday thru Friday.

Does the school provide transporation?

No, the parents are responsible for transporting students to and from
preschool. However, students who receive Special Education services maybe
eligible for transportation as directed by their Individualized Education Plan
(please speak with the teacher or your AEA consultant, if you have questions).

Is there tuition assistance for preschool?

Yes, Bondurant-Farrar has received a Early Childhood Iowa Grant from Polk County
Early Childhood Iowa. This grant allows us to help families access high quality
preschool. Applications for tuition assistance are available with
lottery applications materials. Tuition assistance is determined by federal income
eligibility guidelines. Please contact the school with any questions.

Does the preschool offer Special Education Services?

Yes, Bluejay Beginnings Preschool is a fully integrated program. 
This means all special education services occur within the preschool. Any
child receiving special education services will be with their same age peers.
They will attend preschool in the same setting as students without special
education services. Please contact the teacher if you have any questions
about our program or the services your child is receiving.
