Happy Friday!!
I sent a little half slip note home with the kids today explaining what we were doing in the journals this week! I would guess maybe your child mentioned it???
Anyway, you get the chance to grade your child on things they do at home! If you feel you need to add "subjects" to the list, please go ahead and do so!! Don't ask your child what he/she put in her journal for grades though!!! We're going to compare them and see if you agree!! Have some fun with it!! If you could get it back to me some time next week, that would be great!
Thanks for helping us with this!!!
If you haven't seen your child's Midwest test yet, please ask him/her for it, sign it, and have your child bring it back to school. Many students will need to retake next Tuesday. So, I hope they have their charts home to study!
The math test for Chapter 6 is looking more likely for Thursday next week!
Please have your child work on a box and/or valentines this weekend! I did remember to put the kids' names on the back of the Fabulous Fourth Grade News!! Our party is Tuesday.
Remember, there's an early out on Thursday next week and no school on Friday for the winter break!
Have a great weekend!

Hello!
I have several things on my list for you today!! Get ready!
1. I added some pictures to the photos/docs link. When we went to see our book buddies today, we spent time making Valentines for Mrs. Greer to take to the nursing homes! They did a great job working on these together!! I put our students' names on the pictures to identify them. The kids will have to tell you the book buddy names!
2. We did not get to review in class today for the Midwest map + test. I'm still planning on having the kids do that part tomorrow anyway. They have had this information for a long time. It will be labeling the map with states spelled correctly, matching the states and capitals, and writing the postal abbreviations.
3. Tomorrow is the county spelling bee! We have 3 students from our class in this: Rayme, Macy, and Allen! It is open to the public! I'm hoping several people will go to support our classmates! It is supposed to start at 4:00 at the high school in the auditorium.
4. The Valentine committee met today. They would like to host a Valentine box contest for next Tuesday. Please have your child create a box for their valentines. If they do not want to participate, please be sure your child has a sack or something to put cards in then.
5. Our policy is that each classmate receives a valentine. Please be sure your child has enough for everyone. I'll put a class list on the back of the Fabulous Fourth Grade News this week (if I remember!!!!).
6. There were several yellow slips today - weird after just sending midterms. Anyway, please check with your child to see if he/she has any.
7. If you haven't already, please sign the midterm and have your child bring it back to school tomorrow.
I told you I had quite a bit today!!
Have a good evening!

Good morning!
I just wanted to let you know that I'm planning to send midterms for the 3rd quarter home today. For language, I put in "BH" which means I'm waiting to grade their black history reports and projects. Since we have been working on those for almost a month, that will acount for most of the 3rd quarter grade. After your child has shared his/her things, he/she will get a hot pink colored sheet that contains 2 rubrics to help your child and you understand the grade! So, keep your eyes open for midterms and black history sheets!
Please sign the midterm and send it back to school with your child by Wednesday.
Thanks!

Happy Groundhog Day!
I was trying to give your kids a chance to get home before I sent this!! That way they could announce the news!!!
OUR BOOKS CAME TODAY!!!!
We were so excited to be able to see our poems and pictures in print!!! If you didn't order a book before, you still have the opportunity to do so. The kids who did not get a book should have a sheet explaining how to order. There is a website or a phone number you may call. Our PIN is 1320435. You'll need that if you want to place an order. If you'd like to see our book, I have one for our class. It will either be in our room or displayed in the media center!! A huge thank you goes out to Mrs. Sarah Fink, our media specialist, who found out about this project and was instrumental in helping us get everything ready to go!!
I hope those of you who ordered are happy with the results!!!
Thanks a bunch!

Happy Midweek!
I thought I better get another Newsflash out to say we will NOT have the Midwest test tomorrow as it said on the Fabulous Fourth Grade News. We got behind. It's looking more like the middle of next week for that test! But if your child has been studying - that's great!!!
And again - book orders are due tomorrow morning please if you'd like to order!
I split the kids up today for math - some were working on 'Smath and pyramid puzzles. I had the other kids with me - trying to figure out this division. Most of them are SO close to being independent with it!!! So, a few of the kids have the blue math tonight for a little more practice. Some of them do not need the practice!!
Thanks!
