I have been in education for 35 years, having received my Bachelor of Music
Education degree from Northeast Missouri State University (Truman State.) I
taught music for 19 years in the community school districts of Dows, Central
City, Sigourney and Winfield-Mt. Union. I received my Master of Science in
Educational Administration from The University of Iowa and was the principal
at St. James Elementary School in Washington, Iowa for 14 years. I am
excited to begin my third year at Keota; eager to serve students, teachers
and families in a multiple of roles.
My family is entirely immersed in education. My husband, Doug is the
elementary principal at Louisa-Muscatine CSD. My son, Tim is the 5-8
instrumental music teacher at Davis County CSD. My daughter, Becca is a
junior majoring in communication and journalism at Western Illinois
University. Our home of 25 years has been Washington where, when time allows,
we are active in music and theatre related activities in our church and community.
To support students, teachers and parents as we create a positive, productive
learning environment in which we all become the best version of ourselves.
