School starts on August 25th. Orientation for 7th grade students will be
August 24th from 9-10:00.
The next testing date is September 11, 2010. Students should have
registered by August 6, 2010 and will need to arrive at 7:45am for testing.
The tests run from 8:00am to 12:00pm. Bring ID, calculator, watch, and
admission ticket, if your cell phone goes off during testing you will be asked
to leave.

Apply to all schools you are thinking about going to next year. This way the
colleges know you are interested and will send you information on applying,
financial aid, scholarships, housing, etc.
Reminder: Senior and junior financial aid night on November Thursday
at in the high school auditorium.
If you need help setting up a college visit, I'd be glad to help. Some
schools have certain days you can visit.
NEW REGENTS ADMISSION INDEX
For freshmen entering Fall 2010 or later to University of Iowa, Iowa State
University and University of Northern Iowa will use the Regent Admission
Index(RAI)score. Admissions will be based on four factors: ACT composite
score,high school rank, high school GPA, and number of high school courses
completed in the core subject areas.
RAI=(2 x ACT composite score)+
(1 x percentile high school rank)+
(20 x high school GPA)+
(5 x number of high school core courses)
Applicants who achieve an RAI score of at least 245 and who meet the minimum
high school course requirements listed below will automatically be offered
admission
Applicants who achieve an RAI score below 245 may still be offered admission,
but their applications will be reviewed on an individual basis.
