Dear Third Grade Families,
WOW! We are winding down to the end of the year. We will keep busy and learning right up until the very last minute.
The children have worked hard, and this month will bring the end of the year testing in math and reading.
Math will finish up with multiplication from memory. Remember to have your child practice memorizing all multiplication and division facts to be ready for 4thgrade.
Readingwill continue to focus on understanding the text. Making inferences, summarizing, predicting, with recognizing causes and their effects are just a few of the concepts.
Grammar lessons will focus writing paragraphs, and using correct punctuation and practicing our skill at cursive writing.
Students have created wonderful posters and powerpoints to accompany the Dome Theater. These are well worth a visit!!
We will also focus on preparing students for the rigorous expectaions of 4thgrade.
We thank you for sending us such wonderful students each day!
Over the summer student lose 1/3 of their learning. Keeping your children reading, wrting , and doing real world math over the summer will aid your student in being successful with the expectations of 4th grade.
