Today in U.S. History students received their Ch. 8 test back. They can
correct errors to improve their scores.
Students should be collecting research information and items for their
History of Christmas projects. We will have some class time to work on them
in the days after Thanksgiving Break.

Today in U.S. History students took their Ch. 8 test. For tomorrow students
should read pg 171-175.
11/17
Today in U.S. History we did WB pg. 39 in class and students turned it in.
We also reviewed for the Ch. 8 test which is tomorrow. Students received a
note card which they can use on the test.

Today in U.S. History we went over the decline of the Federalist party. We
completed WB pg. 38 and it was turned in. There will be a test on Ch. 8 on
Wednesday.
We also discussed the History of Christmas projects and students received the
instructions they need for completing them. They are due on December 10.

Today in U.S. History we went over "Emerging Political Parties" and answered
the review questions. For Monday, students need to finish WB pg. 37 and read
the next section in Chapter 8 (pgs. 162-166).

Today in U.S. History we went over the beginnings of the new government. For
tomorrow students need to complete WB pg. 37. They will probably need to use
the internet to complete the assignment.

Today in U.S. History students took an open book test on Ch. 7.
For tomorrow students need to read pages 153-157.

Today in U.S. History we talked about the struggle to ratify the new
Constituion. Students need to complete WB pg. 36 for tomorrow. Tomorrow
students will have an open book test on Ch. 7.

Today in U.S. History we talked about the process of writing the new U.S.
Constitution in 1787.
For Monday, students need to read 146-150 and completed WB pg. 35.

Today in U.S. History we began looking at "The Critical Period" of governing
the new country after the Revolutionary War.
For tomorrow students need to read the next section (141-146) and complete WB
pg. 33.
I will be placing some web links on the "Links" page on this site which
students could use in researching for the History of Christmas projects.

Today in U.S. History we finished our review game. We then began talking
about what our class would do for the History of Christmas program on
December 13. We will be looking at how Christmas was celebrated in early
American history.
For tomorrow students need to read the first section of Ch. 7 (pg. 133-141).

Today in U.S. History students turned in their content questions from page
131 in the textbook. We also began playing a review game. We will finish
tomorrow.

Today in U.S. History students turned in WB pgs. 29-30. We also completed WB
pgs. 31-32 in class.
For Monday, students need to complete the content questions on page 131 in

Today in U.S. History we went over the end of the Revolutionary War including
the campaigns in the south.
For tomorrow students need to complete WB pgs. 29-30.

Today in U.S. History we talked about Early Campaigns of the Revolutionary
War.
For tomorrow students need to read 124-129.

Today in U.S. History we went over WB pg. 27. Some students still need to
turn in their Christopher Columbus essay revision.
We also went over the section "Declaring Independence."
For tomorrow students need to read pgs. 115-123.

Today students in U.S. History watched "Liberty or Death," a video about the
colonial debate and Patrick Henry's famous speech at St. John's Church in
Richmond, VA, in March of 1775.
For Monday students need to do WB pg. 27. I will also collect the Columbus
essay draft revisions on Monday.

Today in U.S. History students we finished the review game. We then went
over the first section in Chapter 6 on "The Eve of War."
For tomorrow students should read pg 112-115.

Today in U.S. History students turned in WB pg. 25-26. We also played a
review game for Ch. 5 which we will finish tomorrow. For tomorrow students
need to begin reading chapter 6 (pg. 105-111).

Today in U.S. History students turned in the WB pg. 23-24 assignment. We did
the outline of the last section of the chapter on "A Growing Rift." The
assignment for tomorrow is to complete the review assignment for Chapter 5 in
the workbook (pgs. 25-26).

Today in U.S. History we went over the French and Indian War. For Monday
students need to complete WB pages 23-24.

Today in U.S. History we went over the period in the 17th & 18th Century in
which there were several wars between the British and French colonies in
North America.
For tomorrow students need to read the next section on the French and Indian
War (pgs. 92-96).

Today in U.S. History the students took their Chapter 4 test (open book).
For tomorrow they need to read 87-91 in their textbook.

Today in U.S. History we went over the section on "The Great Awakening." We
also completed WB pg. 22 in class.
For tomorrow students should be familiar with the chapter review. We will
have an open book test on Ch. 4 tomorrow.

Today in U.S. History we went over the sections on "Colonial Worship"
and "Indian Missions." We also completed WB pg 21 in class.
For Monday they need to read pgs. 77-82 in their textbook.
Reminder: The revised essays are due on October 23.

Today in U.S. History we went over various denominations present in colonial
history. Students turned in WB pgs. 19-20.
For tomorrow students need to read pgs. 73-76 in the textbook.

Today in U.S. History we spent part of the time observing the Rube Goldberg
machines that the 9th grade science class made.
We also began looking at Chapter 4 in our textbook "Religion in the American
Colonies." We went over the first section "Denominational Beginnings in
America."
For tomorrow students need to read page 69-71 and do WB pages 19-20).
