Reading - 
    The class has been divided into different groups to read books.  Every group is reading a different book.  Students are completing jobs and discussing their books in their groups.  As groups finish their books, they are working on a "wrap up" activity.  We are continuing to work on reading comprehension and vocabulary as well. 

 Writing - 
   We are working on our Weekly Writing pieces.   We will continue to work on parts of speech and grammar. 

Words Their Way - 
   All students recieved a new sort this week.  This was also the first week of our new weekly directions.  The students seem to enjoy the new activities  

Social Studies - 
     We started Chapter 3, Egypt.  We are reading a supplemental packet in addition to the book.  So far, we have learned all about the geography of Ancient Egypt, the Old, New and Middle Kingdoms of Ancient Egypt and about some of the Pharoahs.   

Science - 
   We started Chapter 2 this week.  It is all about the Human Body.  So far we have learned all about the Circulatory System.
