In first grade, there are many new concepts to be learned. Some may be easier and some may be harder for the students. There has been a change in the homework schedule. Students will receive a packet of review pages on Fridays to review concepts taught that week. This packet will be due the following Thursday.
In addition to math homework, spelling and high frequency words will be sent home every Friday and a test will be given the following Friday. Please study these words with your child nightly. A Spelling page will be sent home as well on Fridays and will be due back by the following Thursday.
In addition to homework sent home, it is very important that you read with your child at least 20 minutes a night. In October reading logs will be sent home and are to be completed and returned each month.
