About The Teacher

This is my twelfth year teaching at Big Hollow, but I have a much longer history with the district.  As a child, I attended Big Hollow School from kindergarten through eighth grade.  My wonderful experience with the students and teachers inspired me to become a teacher.  I hope to give my students the same great experience in school as I had when I was their age.  I truly enjoy coming to work each day.  Your children make each day fun and exciting.

I attended North Central College in Naperville, Illinois where I had the wonderful opportunity to study abroad.  I lived in Tibas, Costa Rica for three months where I studied Spanish, literature, and culture.  I also had an internship with a ceramic artist.  I graduated from North Central in 2001 with a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education.

I also attended St. Xavier University where I completed my Masters Degree in Teaching And Leadership in 2005.  I love to learn, and continue to take courses that will help better my skills as a teacher.

When I am not in school, you'll find me doing fun things with my family (and my dog)...and I'll most likely have a camera up to my eye.  I LOVE taking pictures!  My husband and I have been photographing weddings, as well as taking portraits for several years.

My Mom and Dad taught me many things!
They have always encouraged me to follow my heart, and never give up.
I am so lucky to have such a great family.

Mission For The Class

I believe that each child is unique, and learns in his or her own way.  It is my goal to find a way to reach each student, and to make school a safe, enjoyable place to be.
