Valentine’s Day
Thank you for donations to the Valentine’s Day party. If you have said you will bring something, you can start sending things in. If you would like to provide something that was not on the list, we will be happy to accept it. Please remember we ar a no nut classroom.
We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on February 14, at 2:45 with a simple ice cream social. Students will have an ice cream sundae and pass out valentines.
I have included a list of student names as well as names of other teachers you child may see during the day. We ask if your child is passing out valentines, he or she should include every student in the class.
Students donotvisit other classrooms to deliver to friends. This should be done outside of school.
Students are making special envelopes in art class to collect their valentines.
Headphones are needed
As hard as we try, we cannot prevent damage to headphones. Many students are telling me their headphones are not working. Please provide an inexpensive pair for use in class and computer lab. Thank you.
Please be sure your student is dressed appropriately for the weather. Students will be going outside in snow and until the temperature reaches 10 degrees. Hats, mittens, and scarves should be worn. Now that snow has fallen, boots and snow pants are also required to play in the snow.
Testing 1, 2, 3
Please check the district website for the winter testing schedules.
iPad
As you may have heard, I am using my personal iPad in the classroom to support our lessons. If
you know of any educational apps that your student enjoys, let me know so I can download it to my iPad. I use free apps for the most part but would also like to hear about paid apps as well.
We have3classroom rules which you should be aware of.
1. Be respectful
2. Be responsible
3. Be ready to learn
Changes are being made to how we do Spelling City starting this week. You will see a small piece of paper with your child’s score. If you would like to see the words your child misspelled, please ask them to write them down for you. We will not be printing copies of the test. If any child misses more than 10 words, I will save it as a PDF and e-mail it to you.
Students have been doing well with spelling on the computer. They are welcome to visitSpellingCityto practice and interact with their words.
