I live in McHenry, IL with my husband of 23 years. We have 2 children, Scott
(22)who is a member of the Army National Guard. He currently attends McHenry
County College, and Kim (20)who will soon be attending Chamberland School of
Nursing. We have 2 cats, Gussie and Odie.
I am a second career teacher. I returned to school when my children were in
middle school. I earned my degree in 2005 from Carthage College in Kenosha,
WI. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a minor in communications. I
began working at Big Hollow in 2006 as the computer teacher. In 2007, with
the loss of specials, I became a collaborative teacher in 4th grade.
I was assigned to a 4th grade classroom in 2008.
I am a lifelong learner and as part of that, I received my Masters
degree in Educational Technology this summer. I will
continue for a few more classes to receive my certification as an Educational
Technology Specialist.
I have been known to try different technologies in the classroom before
sharing them with my team. This has helped the team to easily integrate
technology into their classrooms as well. I hope to continue this in the future.
I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, and relaxing. I
love to read and hope to share that love with my students. Reading should be
fun and enjoyable so I will often have students laying around the room
enjoying a good book with a friend.
Communication is an essential part of learning. Feel free to contact me by
phone, e-mail, or stopping in after school.
I am looking forward to a great year with your student.
Our classroom rules are very basic:
