My name is Mrs. Gretta Adams. I graduated from the University of Illinois
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I have taken many
master classes, but I haven’t earned that degree, yet. This school year will
be my 20th year teaching, and my 11th year at Big Hollow in second grade.
My family consists of my husband, Mike and my two sons-Paul and James. Paul
is going into second grade and James is in 4-year old pre-school.
I am excited about being able to do lots of reading, writing, math activities
and geography (my favorite subject) with the children. Language Arts
(reading literature, phonics, writing, spelling, grammar) and Mathematics are
the core subjects in the second grade curriculum. Our reading program is
very new and uses a more individualized approach to understand the
concepts. We will use lots of manipulatives for math to figure out the
problems.
I am hoping for a great year!!!
