I am a 2007 graduate of Edgewood College in Madison Wisconsin. There I received my degree in Elementary Education. I played on the EC women’s golf team and was part of our schools student Students Athletic Committee. I also coached Madison West High School girl’s gymnastics team for two years as an assistant and I am heading into my sixth year as an assistant coach for girl’s gymnastics at Carmel Catholic High School. We are repeat Champions for the season of 2009 & 2010! We are confidently looking for our 3rd in a row this season. I am looking forward to my 4th year teaching 2nd grade at Big Hollow! Last year I finished my Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy through Benedictine University. Teaching literacy is my passion and I’m excited to use my newly gained knowledge to help students improve their reading skills and strategies. In my weekly newsletter I will include strategies we have worked on as a whole class and ideas for parents to build upon these strategies at home. In my spare time I like to play golf and workout. I also enjoy hanging out with my puppy - Abby. She is a boxer, terrier, pit bull mix. She was rescued from Orphans of the Storm. She enjoys dog parks and playing fetch. She has some Rottweiler friends Samantha and Thor, and one hound dog friend Emmy.
