About Miss Huemann

HELLO! And welcome to Second Grade at Big Hollow School! I would like to
take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Linda Huemann
(pronounced He-min).

I am honored and excited to begin my 7th year teaching and my 7th year
at Big Hollow. It is my goal to help your child become enthusiastic about
coming to school, learning, and being a part of our classroom. I am looking
forward to a great year with your child!

I am a 2005 graduate of Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. While at Loras I was
a four-year member of the varsity women's volleyball team. For many years I
have volunteered in the community through various activities in Girl
Scouting. In December of 2007 I earned my Masters, in Teaching and
Leadership, through St. Xavier University in Chicago. Outside of school I
spend my time as an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay and a referee
for junior high volleyball.

Family: I have two loving parents and am the oldest of four. I have lived in
         Johnsburg for my whole life.
Hobbies: I enjoy exercising, traveling, and spending time with my friends
         and family.
Favorite Foods: Chinese, Panera, pizza, water, cheeseburgers and french
fries, and vanilla ice cream from Dairy Queen!
Favorite Books: The Secret, The Alchemist, and Little Pea
Favorite TV Show: The Office

I Believe...
*A key component to your child's education success is at home support.
*Each child is unique and all children can learn.
*Learning can and should be fun.
*Children learn by doing.
*Children will rise to the expectations set before them.
*If you try your best, you will never fail.
*A little encouragement and praise go a long way.
