I graduated from Quincy University in 1983 with a B.S. degree in Elementary
Education. I began teaching 4 year old preschool that fall in Arlington
Heights, IL. The following year we moved to Peoria and I taught Kindergarten
at St. Thomas in Peoria Heights. Those years went by in a blur because I had
over 30 children in each morning and afternoon session! In 1987 I switched
schools, moving to Holy Family, and switched grades, moving to 5th grade. I
missed working with the younger children and the following year I taught 2nd
grade. I then began another project, my family!
My husband, Tim, and I have a 20year old daughter, Lauren, who is going to be
a junior at Benedictine college in Kansas and a 12 year old son, Andrew, who
is a 7th grader at Blessed
Sacrament. They are the joy of our lives.
Blessed Sacrament is a very important part of our family. We are active in
the community as Eucharistic Minister's, usher, and Altar server, I was also
Sunday School Director for 6 years. I love Blessed Sacrament and it is an
honor to be a teacher at this Parish.
I began working on my Master's Degree at Bradley University and I have earned
39 Master hours toward a degree in School Counseling. I feel very thankful to
have worked at Blessed Sacrament for the past 5 years as a kindergarten and
First grade teacher. I am looking forward to many more!
Catholic education is a vital component to a child's development in a Catholic
family and parents are primarily responsible for the religious formation of
their children. At Blessed Sacrament we build on the foundation that has been
established by the parents and we reinforce the teachings, values, morals, and
beliefs of our Catholic faith.
Jesus will be our example in Kindergarten. We will grow, learn, and and
become a family through His love. Each child will feel success every day and
learning will be enjoyable, creative and fun! We will develop life long
learners who are curious and excited about the world around them.
