You will need the following items:

3 ring binder (at least 2 inches to hold all of your stuff!)
6 subject dividers
notebook paper -- wide or narrow, whatever works for you; lots of it!
2 pocket folders 1 for music, 1 for writing portfolio (5th graders 
have a portfolio already)
markers
colored pencils
pair of scissors
pencil box or pouch
box of tissues
pencils with good erasers (mechanicals are OK if you want them)
pen for grading -- any color
black or blue pen for Final Copy work (unless you plan to print 
everything from the computer)
glue sticks
inexpensive calculator



Optional, but highly recommended:  flash drive for saving work on the 
computers.  Cheap ones are about $10 - $12.  

I have class sets of rulers, compasses and protractors.  I also have  
liquid glue, highlighters, and Writer's Notebooks.
