School Policies

The school-wide Discipline Plan is as follows:

1. Respect yourself.
2. Respect others.
3. Respect property.
4. Be there; be ready.

Carolyn Wenz staff believes that all students should follow these simple
rules. By doing so, Carolyn Wenz remains a safe, healthy, educational
environment in which all students learn and grow to the best of their
abilities.

Consequences will be imposed on any student who chooses to break one of our
rules. Verbal warnings, processings, and detentions are used for students
who consistently choose to misbehave.

The Carolyn Wenz Homework Policy is as follows:

Teachers assign homework on a regular basis in all grades in the academic
subjects. Daily homework is planned to:

1. help students develop independent work study habits,
2. reinforce learning that has taken place at school,
3. develop student responsibility for completing and returning assignments,
4. provide students with practice needed to master the lesson objectives.

Teachers expect students to complete homework on a daily basis. Students who
complete and return all homework may participate in the Wenz Ruler program.
Each week students who follow all rules and complete all homework have the
chance to have their name drawn out for a special prize.

If your student is absent:

When you call in your student's absence, please send a message to the
classroom teacher requesting homework. Teachers will gladly send books and
assignments to the office at the end of the day. Your student can get a head
start on make-up work before he/she even returns to school!
