Classroom Behavior Plan

Classroom Behavior Management Plan

I have developed a classroom discipline plan which affords every student guidance in making good decisions about his/her behavior. In doing this, the children are given the opportunity to learn in a positive, nurturing classroom environment. It is important for each child to develop self-discipline and good work habits, resolve conflicts peacefully and think independently. Children deserve the more positive educational climate possible for his/her growth. I know that together we can make a difference in this process. The plan below outlines out classroom rules, positive rewards and consequences for appropriate and inappropriate behavior.

Our Classroom Expectations:
1) Be Ready
2) Be Respectful
3) Be Responsible

Each student has four cards, one green, one blue, one yellow, and one red. If the student stays on green all day, that means they have behaved good all day and need to keep up the good work. If a student misbehaving or does not meet my expectations, they must turn their card to blue. This is a verbal warning and then need to rethink their behavior. If the student continues to misbehave and not meet the expectations, they will receive a yellow card. Once they have a yellow card, a consequence is chosen by the teacher. If a child continues to misbehave they will receive the final card that is red. This will indicate that the child will need to see the principal and the teacher will contact the parents by phone.

This behavior system helps me determine conduct grades throughout the school year. Each day, the students will color their behavior on their “Responsibly Chart” in their EAGLE binder. I will take an average of their weekly conduct grade.

The students are aware of the consequences to my expectations and we continuously reinforce them in class.
