I began teaching at Davenport in 1997.  I taught library and computers for 
seven years before moving to fourth grade.  I graduated cum laude from 
Eureka College in 1994, with a Bachelor of Arts degree and teaching 
certification.  I earned my Master's degree in teaching and leadership from 
St. Xavier University in 2004.

    My husband, Tim, and I have two children, Amber and Joel.  I enjoy 
spending my time away from school doing fun things with my family.  My 
children have made me a better person and a better teacher.  I also enjoy 
reading, singing, and spending time involved with our church.

    I have lived in Eureka my entire life, and am currently teaching in the 
classroom that I was a student in when I was in fourth grade.

Classroom goals

My goals for this year:
    To get to know your child and really care about him or her.
    To make learning an adventure for your child.
    To instill a lifelong love for learning in your child.
    To challenge your child to be the very best that he or she can be.
