Here's hoping that the groundhog was right and Spring is just around the corner!  We have had a busy week and need to thank many people.

Last Thursday was GDW Spirit Night at the HHS Basketball games.  I'd like to thank Mr. Hicks, the Athletic Director at HHS, for allowing us this evening.  He was kind enough to donate water bottles and lanyards to those students that attended the game in their GDW spirt wear.  Also, to the families who were able to cheer on the Whippurrs, thank you!!!

Saturday night was our 4th Annual Daddy Daughter Dance and this year we saw our biggest turnout ever!  Over 300 dads and daughters were in attendance and it appeared as though everyone throughly enjoyed themselves. Photos should be coming home by Friday or next Monday. This event could not have happened without the volunteers who planned, setup, helped during the dance, and stayed to clean up.  We also were the recipients of many gift card donations from various stores in our area.  A letter of thanks will be available shortly with all of the volunteers listed.

We will begin our next fundraising event on February 27th with the sales of Tom's Flowers.  Watch for more info to come.

March is just around the corner and we have arranged for a night out on Sunday, March 4th.  Charming Charlie's in Algonquin Commons has allowed us to host a shopping event for our families and their guests.  Please join us between 6:00pm-8:00pm to shop the store, which will be closed to the general public.  They will donate 10% of your purchase back to our PTO. You do NOT need to bring a flyer to receive the donation. This is a great time to get those Easter and Mother's Day items!  Refreshments will be served. If you have any questions, please contact Gina Paszkiewicz at ginap70@yahoo.com

Our Dec thru January Box Tops for Education drawing winners were Isabella Corrado in Mrs. Frint's class and Abigail Miscevich in Mrs. Swiney's class.  Isabella and Abby won $10 gift cards to ToysRUs.  Thank you to all the families who have been clipping and turning in their Box Tops. We are very close to our $2000 goal for the year.
Please continue to turn them in and don't forget to include your child's name and teacher on the collection sheets or bags, so that they can be included in our monthly drawings.  February Box Tops collection sheetBoxTopsCollectionValentinesheet.pdf

Please cut and turn in those Labels For Education UPC codes!  When turning these in, please include the BARCODE.  Campbell's will not accept the point value only.  There are many products that contain the code, check out the www.labelsforeducation.com website to see what they are.  Don't forget to also get your Coke Rewards points.  Deposit them online at www.mycokerewards.com.

Have a great week,
