Description
Read-up is actually a program purchased from Renaissance Learning in
Wisconsin. "Read-up" is the term coined by us at Hynes to represent the
program. All students in Grades 2-4 participate in the Read-up program.
Students in younger grades are recommended by their classroom teachers for
participation in the program. Read-up is a computerized program which allows
students to take a test on a book they have read. Students earn points as
they read books, with the potential to earn a Cardinal Pin
and entrance into the Reading club (a Medal and an ice cream party
at the end of the year). After earning two Cardinal Pins, a students earns a
Reading Pin. A four-time Cardinal Pin Winner earns an Excellence Pin.
The Accelerated Reader list is now on the Golf District 67 Website for both
Hynes and Golf Schools (under Parent Information-Hynes Accelerated Reader).
