Our school has Internet access. We also use a sophisticated Firewall
program, which filters out unseemly materials and sites. This program is
updated on a regular basis, supporting our efforts to make every child’s
Internet experience safe and positive. In classrooms and labs, at the
primary level, staff will find sites and bookmark them for students. This is
one more way to insure that students only arrive at the sites that we have
determined are appropriate. Most of the sites that we access here at school
are available just as easily from any home computer. Simply go to the
district website, www.fsd157c.org , click on Grand Prairie
School and then on the TECHNOLOGY link. I have attempted to include many
age appropriate and educational sites. Every student will need to
have parental permission to use the Internet at school. Please be assured
that unsupervised “surfing” will never be allowed.
