Our reading themes this quarter are Off to Adventure! and Unusual Stories. We
are practicing the use of good reading strategies : predicting, decoding,
monitoring, questioning, summarizing, and evaluating.
In social studies, we are studying communities. We are learning about a
different types of communities and their characteristics.
In science, students are studying the world of sound.
In writing, students are learning to write expository pieces. The focus for
this quarter is the appropriate use of main idea, details and support
sentences.
