*Please check your child's assignment notebook and homework folder daily. It
is checked by the teacher at the end of each day to ensure proper recording
of assignments. Assignment notebooks should be initialed daily by a parent.
* Nightly homework will include 20 minutes of reading, daily math problems,
and studying for upcoming tests and quizes. Please call the classroom to
retrieve forgotten books or papers after hours. Missing work is generally not
accepted without prior parent contact. Homework will not be done at recess.
*The weekly science quiz is on Thursdays.All questions are prviously covered
in class and study guides are provided.
*Reading tests (vocabulary and comprehension) are given by unit,
approximately every 4 weeks.Writing quizzes(spelling, grammar,
and punctuation) are given approximately weekly, when the material has been
thoroughly covered. Students are always notified ahead of time as to quiz
dates and study materials are provided.
*Teacher communication frequently takes the form of notes written in the
assignment book. E-mail contact is also encouraged.
*Graded papers and school notes should be removed from the students green
folder daily to aid them in organization. This should be done with the
student to ensure that rough drafts and long term work are not thrown away.
