Welcome to my second grade class. I am a graduate of Illinois State
University and received my Master's Degree from St. Xavier University. When
I began teaching 21 years ago in Morton I first taught Early Childhood, then
moved up to kindergarten and then advanced to first grade. For 6 years I
taught both first and second grade in our looping program. We
are not looping anymore so now I am permanently teaching second grade.
My family consists of my husband of 35 yrs. Kevin, and 2 children, David 28
yrs. and Kristen 31 yrs. My daughter and her husband Jeff are both teachers
and are parents to my grandson Ben whois 4 and his sister Elle, 10
months. Besides being a teacher, being a grandparent is the best!
My mission for my students is for them to become lifelong learners and
problem solvers. I want them to enjoy coming to school and succeed in their
subjects. My wish for them is to not only grow acidemically, but emotionally
and socially as well. Each day is a new beginning and I find such joy in
seeing them accomplish their goals. I also want my parents to feel
comfortable in discussing their child's progress with me. My aim is to work
as a team with all adults associated with each of my students. I feel like I
have the best job in the world.
