This is my third year teaching 5th grade, and I love it. Previoiusly, I was
the Challenge Teacher and Coordinator for the Morton District for four
years. Prior to that I taught 3rd grade for 13 years, Title I Reading for 1
year and 1st grade for 3 years - which makes this my 24th year in education!
I not only teach in Morton, but I also live here with my wonderful husband,
Dean. My oldest child, Alaina, is married and works in the library at Morton
High School. My youngest, Drew, is attending Northern Illinois University
this year as a junior and is studying journalism. I also have a granddog
named Midas. I enjoy scrapbooking, reading, and spending time with
my family and many friends.
I believe every child can learn and be a contributing citizen in our
classroom. Although my students all come to school at a variety of levels, I
strive to encourage each of them to reach their full potential. Academic
skills, as well as social skills, are important in developing the whole
child. I hope to encourage every person to be their best!
