What is PBIS?
PBIS is a nationally recognized process that helps create safer and more effective schools by emphasizing catching children at their best or recognizing their positive behavior. This process focuses on expectations, rather than rules.
What expectations have been set by Washington School?
You will see posters around the school that display our school wide expectations. They are: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe.
How are these school wide expectations going to be taught?
These concepts will be presented to students in a variety of age appropriate activities that define, teach, and remind students in an encouraging and positive way and student successes will be celebrated.
How can you help promote these school wide expectations?
Use the common vocabulary of respectful, responsible and safe when talking with your child at home. Use language that lets your child know that you accept him/her, know that he/she accomplishes things and that you appreciate him/her. Remember to let your child know when he/she has demonstrated being respectful, responsible, and safe by using praise and encouragement.

PBIS es un proceso reconocido nacionalmente que ayuda a crear escuelas seguras y más efectivas con énfasis en reconocer la buena conducta de los niños.
¿Cuales son las expectativas en la Escuela Washington?
Usted notara los posters con las expectativas en diferentes lugares de la escuela. Las cuales son ser respetuoso, responsable, y cuidadoso.
¿Como se enseñaran estas expectativas?
Estos conceptos serán presentados a los estudiantes en diferentes actividades según la edad que enseñara el significado, aprenderán y se les recordara en una manera alentadora y positiva. Se celebrara los logros de los estudiantes.
¿Como puede ayudar a promover estas expectativas?
Use las palabras respetuoso, responsable y cuidadoso cuando hable con su hijo/a. Dígale que lo acepta, que se da cuenta cuando cumple con sus cosas y que los aprecia. Recuerde decirle a su hijo/a cuando a demostrado ser respetuoso, responsable y cuidadoso.
