What is your homework policy?
Please refer to the Hadley Student Handbook.
What is your grading scale?
Please refer to the Hadley webpage.
Do you give extra credit?
There is no extra credit, however, extra effort will be reflected in work habits.
When are you available for help?
If you need additional help during the day, I am usually available before
school and after school. Please make an appointment to meet with me if you
need additional help.
How often do you post grades?
Grades are posted online.
Do you give a lot of homework?
There will be days when you have written homework, reading homework, or you
will be working on a project; you may be working on research or studying for a
test or quiz. There will be days when you do not have homework. It really
depends on what we are doing in class. For example:if we are working on a
research unit, you will have homework every night; if we are beginning a new
chapter, you may start your homework in class (after a classroom
discussion),but have work to finish at home.
I generally do not give homework on Wednesdays or weekends, but this is not an
absolute.
Are you an nice teacher? Are you a strict teacher?
My answer would be yes to both of these question, however, you will have to
wait until you get to know me to make up your own mind.
How can I contact you if I have questions when I am at home?
You can contact me at my school e-mail address by pheisler@d41.org or by
clicking on the mail symbol of this web page. You can also click on my name on
the Hadley Homework page and get to my school e-mail.
I usually check my school e-mail at home, and will make every effort to return
your message in a timely manner.
What will we be studying in Social Studies this year?
We will be exploring early Western civilizations and relating those cultures
to our own. Making these connections between the past and the present is essential to
understanding the world we live in today. Trust me, you will enjoy the class :)
