Hi! My name is Mrs. Gabbert! I have lived in the area all of my life and
this is my 8th year teaching first graders. I received my degree at the
University of Iowa, and also received my masters degree in reading
instruction from ISU! I am VERY excited to be at Hensey! I love
teaching first graders and can't wait to start another year!
My largest goal for my students is to create a love for reading and
learning. I want them to feel my classroom is a safe environment to share
and take risks. I hold each one of my students dear to me and want them to
know that they are always wanted and welcome in my room. Their families are
part of that package, and so I also welcome parents and family members to
come to my room when needed. We are all part of the first grade team and we
work better when we are working together!
