                         Classroom Rules & Procedures
                                   2011-2012

Teacher:	Ms. Gross

Course Title:	Individualized Algebra AB
The following information describes the classroom procedures and course
expectations for students enrolled in this course. Students are expected to
review this information with their parents and return the bottom portion of
this sheet by August 25, 2011.

Arrival: Students are expected to be in their seats at the sound of the bell.
It is not acceptable for a student to come running into the classroom as the
bell sounds.

Behavior: Students are expected to treat each other and all staff with
respect. In return, each student can expect to be treated with respect by
other students and all staff. Teasing, ridiculing or harassment of any kind
will absolutely not be tolerated. Students are expected to be attentive
during instruction and to take notes when appropriate. All other rules and
policies stated in the LWE Handbook apply and will be strictly enforced.
Students are expected to come to class prepared to participate, with homework
completed.

Behavioral Consequences: Depending upon the frequency and severity of the
behavior violations, one or more of the following consequences will occur:
(a) verbal warning; (b) conference with teacher; (c) removal from classroom;
(d) phone call to parent; (e) counselor referral; and/or (f) discipline
referral/green sheet. All other rules and policies stated in the LWE handbook
regarding behavioral consequences apply.

Class Materials: Students are required to purchase a graphing calculator. The
calculator should be a TI-84. It is very important that this is
the calculator that is purchased. A four function general calculator should
also be purchased as many tests will have sections when the graphing
calculator cannot be used. In these rough economic times it is understood that
the purchase of these graphing calculators may be difficult, so a rental
policy has been instituted. If you need to rent a graphing calculator,
please send in a check payable to Lincoln-Way East for $25.00. An agreement
will then be sent home for parents to sign and upon return, a graphing
calculator will be loaned to the student. The calculator must be returned to
me at the end of the year or an additional amount for the cost of the
calculator will be charged to the student's account.

Students will need their planners, calculators, pencils, erasers, a
highlighter and paper every day.

Homework: Homework will be given on an almost daily basis and must be
completed in pencil. Each fully completed assignment is worth 10 points.
Late homework will be accepted for half credit until the day before each
section’s quiz. The homework make-up policy stated in the LWE Handbook will
be enforced. It is the student’s responsibility to ask for missed work.

Academic Dishonesty: Academic dishonesty violations result in a grade of zero
for the test, quiz or assignment. Repeated cheating will result in a failing
grade for the quarter. Academic dishonesty includes but is not limited to:

A. Using hidden notes, copying from or helping another student during an
    assessment.
B. Giving assessment questions or answers to a member of a later class or
receiving assessment questions or answers from a member of an earlier
    class.
C. Submitting another student’s work as one’s own.
D. Stealing or copying another student’s written assignment, paper, project,
    or take-home test or quiz.
E. Permitting another student to copy one’s homework assignment, paper,
project, report or take-home test or quiz.
F. Changing answers and seeking credit on an examination after the
examination has been graded and returned.
