Daily Required Materials

ü  Textbook

ü  Pencils

ü  Looseleaf paper

ü  Three-ring binder and/or spiral

ü  Graphing calculator (TI-84+ is highly recommended)

ü  Lincoln-Way planner

 

Classroom Rules

1.     All rules in the school handbook will be enforced.  (NO PHONES!!!)

2.    Behave with respect to me, yourself, other students and our classroom.

3.    When I am writing, you are writing.  (Take notes!)

4.    Actively participate in class.

5.    ASK QUESTIONS!!!

 

Homework

·        Homework will be assigned every day. 

·        ALL WORK MUST BE SHOWN to receive credit.  A list of answers will result in a zero.

·        All work is to be done in pencil.  Points will be deducted from assignments done in pen.

·        Homework is to be kept in your binder following that section’s notes.

·        Homework will be graded as follows:

 

100% complete                       10 points                     60% complete                        6 points

90% complete                        9 points                      50% complete                        5 points

80% complete                        8 points                      less than 50%             0 points

70% complete                        7 points

 

·        There may be periodic homework quizzes instead of daily homework checks.  These may or may not be announced and are at the teacher’s discretion.

·        Late homework will be accepted only 1 day late for a possible 7 points if 100% complete.

 

Absences

·        It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to find out what assignments you missed. (Email me and I will send them to you.)

·        Get notes from a classmate as soon as you get back.

·        Days allowed for makeup work are according to the school handbook.  (# days + 1)

·        If you are absent ONLY the day before a test or quiz, you are expected to take the test or quiz the day it was scheduled.  All tests and quizzes will be posted giving several days’ notice.

 

 

 

Cheating

            1st time:  Zero for the assignment and counselor referral

            2nd time:  Fail the quarter and discipline referral

            3rd time:  Fail the semester and discipline referral

 

Grading

Grades will be posted online.  Parents and students are encouraged to check grades frequently.  The grading scale is as follows:

 

98-100%         A+                                77-79%           C+

93-97%           A                                 73-76%           C

90-92%           A-                                70-72%           C-

 

87-89%           B+                                67-69%           D+

83-86%           B                                  63-66%           D

80-82%           B-                                60-62%           D-

Extra Help

·        You are always encouraged to ask questions in class.  Your question may also benefit other students!  Class time is the best time to ask questions.

·        Arrange to meet with me for extra help.

·        Attend Academic Assistance during study hall.

·        Sign up for peer tutoring in PPS. 

·        I have a list of outside tutors that can be hired.  Please ask for the list if you are interested.

 

 

This rule sheet is to be considered a supplement to the Parent/Student Handbook.  The teacher reserves the right to change, add, or alter any of the rules on this sheet.
