Dear Parents:
Assalamu'Alaikum,
The Sixth Grade Social Studies class is embarking on an exciting journey to
India. At present we are learning about the ancient civilizations of Mohenjo
Daro and Harappa. We are also studying about the development of Hinduism and
Buddhism. The students will be learning next about the exciting world of
Ancient China. In Islamic History, the students are learning about the story
of Prophet Salih, and that of Prophet Ibrahim.
The Seventh Grade Social Studies Class is learning about the Thirteen
Colonies. We just finished designing travel brochures in partners, for each
of the colonies. Now we will begin discussion of phenomena like the Salem
Witch Trials, the growth of slavery and The Great Awakening. In Islamic
History, the students are finishing up thier unit on the four imams, and will
begin learning about the great military figures in Islam.
The Eighth Grade Social Studies is learning about the hardships of
immigration in the early 1900’s. In order to consolidate their knowledge
about this chapter, they will each be writing their own immigrant story
replete with all the historical components. I would really appreciate if you
would help your child obtain any research materials which they may need for
the completion of this project. Thank you very much. Eighth Grade is learning
about the Mughal Empire, and some of them are designing Models of the Taj
Mahal.
Jazakallahu Khair,
